Mr. Conor Hayes
Somewhere behind the athlete that you have become, through the hours of pain during practice and all the influential people who guided you where you are now, is a boy or girl who fell in love with the game and never looked back. Always play for him or for her.
Teacher Bio:
Hi, my name is Conor Hayes and I am the Athletic Director at Immaculate Heart of Mary School. I look forward in being a part of the growth of the student's athletic journey here at IHM.
I began coaching in 2008 while I was in the military, coaching men's basketball. When I left the service in 2012, I went back to St. Edward School which is where I went to Junior High. At St. Edward's, I began coaching Volleyball and Basketball in 2012 and continued coaching until the school closed in 2019. During my time at St. Edward School, I coached girls' basketball, boys' basketball, and volleyball. I also coached high school church league students who were attending Mount St. Mary High School.
I was born in Cork, Ireland and moved to the U.S. in 1994. I attended St. Edward School in 7th and 8th grade only. After Junior High I attended Catholic High in Little Rock. I am happily married to my wife Jessica, and our three children Lucia, Addison and Ella. I served in the U.S. Navy from 2008-2012, and I am currently the Security Manager at CARTI.
I was a coach at IHM and an AD at IHM after my time at St. Edward School. During my time at IHM, I had the pleasure in meeting many parents who had also attended IHM, and their child now attends the school. I see how close the community is, and how passionate the coaches and parents are in giving their best to their child. I love the church, my daughter was Baptized in the church, and I appreciate that my children will have the chance to attend IHM and be a part of this culture for their spiritual and educational growth. IHM is a smaller school with rich history especially in the Polish community. My mother who is an Irish Dance teacher, has often had children dance at the Karnawal Festival.
