Let There Be Light! Fourth and fifth grade students explore simple closed circuits, series circuits, and parallel circuits in an effort to light flashlight bulbs.

Kindergarten was able to use a special light to see our baby chick's growing and developing inside the eggs! It was exciting to see them moving around inside the egg.
Last week 7th grade did the Egg Cell Lab. In this lab they observed osmosis, diffusion, and facilitated diffusion.
Kindergarten is learning about life cycles! We will be watching the life cycle of ladybugs and hoping our chicken eggs hatch!

The track meet has been cancelled today.
We have professional beekeepers in PK4! Students stamped with bubble wrap to create honey combs for box hives in our dramatic play center. A beekeeper uses smoke to calm the bees to safely remove the frames to harvest honey.
The 8th graders are teaming up with the 5th graders and helping them prepare their writing with a graphic organizer.
Multicultural Festival will be Friday, May 6 at 6:00 PM. Tickets are available in the school office.

1st grade had a blast at the Little Rock Zoo!! We are so glad the weather was so beautiful! It was a wonderful day!
7th graders are beginning "White Fang". They are researching the words "nature" and "culture" to understand the themes in their new novel.

Kindergarten - Third Grade had a Skype visit with author Kathy Duval today. The students enjoyed asking her questions about her books.
PK4 received a letter in the mail from Mr. McGregor! Our featured author this month is Beatrix Potter. We look forward to seeing her story, The Tale of Peter Rabbit, performed live at the Arkansas Arts Center next week!
How does fat keep mammals warm?
Fourth grade students predicted and then tested whether Crisco (fat) would allow them to keep their hand submerged in ice water longer than doing the same process without Crisco.
